Privacy and terms
Last updated 18 September 2026. Written in plain words for a personal project; this is not legal advice.
What is stored
Shiori runs on your own computer. Everything it keeps stays there: your AniList token, watch history, settings, downloaded episodes and chapters, and logs. The login token lives in your browser. There are no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and nothing is sold or shared.
What leaves your computer
AniList receives your list updates when you connect it. The sources you install receive the searches and requests needed to fetch episodes and chapters, and see your computer's IP address. Torrent peers see your IP address while you download or seed; use a VPN or a debrid service if that matters where you live. Each of those services has its own privacy policy.
This website
This site is static pages. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Fonts, icons and the animation library load from Google Fonts and jsDelivr, which see your IP address like any website does.
Your responsibility
Shiori is a personal, non-commercial, self-hosted build of the open-source Seanime media server. It hosts, uploads and stores no media. You choose and install the sources, and you are responsible for making sure what you stream, download, seed or read is legal where you live, and for securing the computer Shiori runs on.
What we are not responsible for
To the fullest extent the law allows, the maintainers are not responsible for: the content, legality or safety of any torrent, stream or file from a third-party source, including malware; download sizes, disk space or data charges; third-party sources, AniList or debrid services changing or breaking; copyright notices or legal action arising from what you download or share; unauthorised access to your computer, accounts or data, including through a weak password, an exposed port or an untrusted extension; or any loss that comes from using Shiori.
No warranty
Shiori is provided as is, without warranty of any kind, as set out in the GNU General Public License v3.0 that covers its source. Donations are voluntary gifts: they buy no access, support or rights, and are not refundable. Anime and manga titles and artwork belong to their owners; Shiori is not affiliated with Seanime, AniList or any source.
